Wholesale Supplier for General Stores & Supermarkets

Wholesale Supplier for General Stores & Supermarkets

We supply general stores, kirana shops, supermarkets and department stores across India with imported toys, household items, stationery and impulse lines at trade rates. Direct importer, low MOQ, GST invoicing.

Non-Food Is Where Your Margin Is

Groceries and staples bring people in, but they are the tightest margins in your shop. Customers know the price of dal and detergent to the rupee, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Non-food impulse lines work differently. Nobody knows what a novelty kitchen gadget or a character keychain should cost, so you are not competing against a known price. A modest corner of your shop given over to these can earn more per square foot than several aisles of groceries.

The Lines That Suit a General Store

  • Kitchen gadgets and household helpers — peelers, openers, organisers, storage. These sell on demonstration: a gadget that visibly solves an annoying problem moves far faster on a counter than on a shelf.
  • Small toys — the pester-power purchase while a parent is paying for groceries. Keep them low and visible.
  • Stationery — pens, notebooks, erasers. Steady demand, and it spikes hard March to July.
  • Keychains and stickers — pocket-money purchases with almost no shelf footprint.
  • Gift bags and wrapping — people need these at short notice and buy wherever is closest. A reliable stock makes you that shop.
  • Decorative lighting — seasonal, but Diwali demand is enormous and customers buy where they already shop.

The Counter Is Your Best Shelf

Every customer passes it, every customer stops there, and every customer has their wallet open. Small high-margin items at the billing counter — keychains, small toys, novelty stationery, lighters — add to a bill that was already going to happen.

This is the cheapest possible experiment for a general store: one mixed carton, one counter display, no change to how you run anything else.

Seasonal Pushes Worth Planning

  • March–July — school session. Stationery, bottles and lunch boxes. Parents buy these wherever they already shop for groceries.
  • Rakhi and Diwalipackaging, lighting, gift items. Your regular customers will buy from you rather than make a separate trip if you have stock.
  • Wedding season — return gifts and packaging in volume.

Imported stock takes around six weeks to arrive, so each of these needs ordering roughly two months ahead.

Trade Terms

  • Wholesale only — priced for resale, not retail
  • Low minimum order quantity — mixed cartons, so adding a non-food line does not mean a big commitment
  • Quantity slabs — rates step down at carton and master-carton volume
  • GST tax invoice on every consignment
  • Pan-India dispatch by surface and air cargo
